A Conversation with Jennifer Byxbee and Evacheska deAngelis on Spiritual Experiences and Plant Medicine Work in Therapy
More clients are arriving in session having had a psychedelic or plant medicine experience — through a retreat, ceremony, or guided journey. Many of these substances exist in a legal gray area in the United States, and clients are seeking these experiences out regardless, often bringing them into therapy before their clinician has had a chance to catch up.
This workshop offers therapists a clinical understanding of what's actually happening, physiologically and psychologically, so you can make sense of what a client describes and know how to support their integration in session.
📅 Live on Zoom: August 26, 7:00 PM
🎓 1.5 CEUs for NYS providers (LCSWs, LMHCs, LPs, LCATs)
💵 $45
Who is this for?
This training is for anyone curious about what happens in altered states of consciousness and how to support integration, whether personally, professionally, or somewhere in between. That includes coaches, practitioners, clinicians seeking CE credit, and anyone who's had or witnessed a plant medicine experience and wants to understand it more deeply.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Describe the physiological and psychological processes that occur during a psychedelic or plant medicine experience.
Discuss ethical and scope-of-practice considerations when clients bring psychedelic or plant medicine experiences into session.
Apply somatic tools (regulation, titration, pendulation) to support client integration when a client discloses ceremony, microdosing, or plant medicine use.
